Culverts during Tropical Storm Irene

Environmental leaders and state agency personnel discuss the critical role culverts played during the flooding from Tropical Storm Irene and how damage was exacerbated or limited depending on whether existing structures were properly sized or not. With a foreword from former Governor, Howard Dean, this video stresses the benefits to communities of planning for future storm events by upgrading existing culverts wherever possible.

Produced in cooperation with the Connecticut River Watershed Council and Conservation Law foundation, and made possible through a grant from the High Meadows Fund.
